It is a known fact that 70% of 2 wheelers in the country are not insured.
This is likely to change with the passage of the new Road safety bill.
This new bill proposes steep fines for driving without insurance.
Fines are as high as Rs. 10,000/- for motorcycles, Rs. 25,000/- for autos and Rs. 75,000 for cars.
There are a lot of other benefits which will come with the passage of this bill, but then there are a lot of discomfort to the set norms also.
So it would be interesting to watch the outcome of this debate, and how positively it impacts road safety and motor insurance penetration in India.
